The Institutes of Professional Accountants in the East African Community are honored to organize the 5ᵗʰ East African Congress of Accountants (EACOA), which will be hosted by the Institute of Professional Accountants in Burundi (OPC). The congress will take place from April 22 to 24, 2026, at the Donatus Conference Center, in Bujumbura, Burundi.
The East Africa Congress of Accountants (EACOA) is a biennial event jointly organized by the five East Africa Community Institutes of Accountants (EACIAs) namely; the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Rwanda (ICPAR), the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), the National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA) of Tanzania, the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) and the Ordre Des Professionels Comptables du Burundi (OPC).
The event will bring together over 1,500 delegates from different countries, including the President of IFAC, the President of PAFA, leaders of international accounting standard-setting bodies, and representatives of EAC financial institutions.
The theme for this edition, “Driving Sustainability through Innovation in the Accounting Profession” highlights the central role of the accounting profession in economic governance and in building a climate of trust essential for regional development.
Your presence at this Congress would be highly appreciated and would send a strong signal in favor of financial transparency, good governance, and strategic partnerships between financial institutions and the accounting profession.
We would also be honored to see your institution actively participate in the discussions and explore opportunities for collaboration with regional and international stakeholders.
