Non-compliance with CPD requirements for the period from January 2024 To December 2024

In accordance with the provisions of the Accountants and Auditors (Registration) By-Laws, 2023 and NBAA Guidelines on Continued Professional Development (CPD), non-compliance with the CPD requirements will result in sanctions being imposed on members who are not compliant within the required calendar year.

Clause 22(3) of the Accountants and Auditors (Registration) By-Laws, 2023 states that A registered person who, without cause, fails to attain the required Continuing Professional Development hours shall pay to the Board a penalty fee as prescribed in the Third Schedule”.

Based on information generated from MEMS, our records indicate that you have not attained the minimum requirements of relevant CPD activities for the calendar year ended 31st December 2024.

This notice serves to inform you that the Board is imposing a penalty for failure to attain the required 40 CPD hours during the calendar year ended 31st December 2024.

You are required within thirty days from the date of this notice to pay the penalty or within twenty-one days from the date of this letter show cause as to why the Board should not impose a penalty for non-compliance with the CPD requirements. After the expiry of twenty-one days, the Board will not accept any presented case with regard to penalty imposed.

Failure to pay the penalty within the required time for those members who have no reasonable cause may lead to disciplinary action that the Board may consider appropriate as per the NBAA Establishing Act, CAP 286.
