Non-Compliance with CPD Requirements for the period from January 2023 - December 2023

In accordance with the provisions of the Accountants and Auditors (Registration) By-Laws, 2017 and NBAA Guidelines on Continued Professional Development (CPD), non-compliance with the CPD requirements will result in sanctions being imposed on members who are not compliant within the required calendar year.
Clause 17(3) of the Accountants and Auditors (Registration) By-Laws, 2017 states that “A registered person who, without cause, fails to attain the required Continuing Professional Development hours shall pay to the Board a penalty fee as prescribed in the Third Schedule”. The Third Schedule indicates a charge of US$.500 or equivalent for failure to attain the required Continued Professional Development hours. Furthermore, clause 17(4) elaborates that, for the avoidance of doubt, persons referred to are: Temporary registered Certified Public Accountants (TACPAs and TFCPAs), Temporary registered Certified Public Accountants in Public Practice (TACPA-PPs or TFCPA-PPs), or Certified Public Accountants in Public Practice (ACPA-PPs or FCPA-PPs).
Based on information generated from MEMS, our records indicate that you have not attained the minimum requirements of relevant CPD activities for the calendar year ended 31st December 2023 which required you to attain 40 CPD hours.
This notice serves to inform you that the Board is imposing a penalty of TZS equivalent amount to USD 500 for failure to attain the required 40 CPD hours during the calendar year ended 31st December 2023. Click this link to see the list of CPD-non-compliant’ members legible for penalty.
You are required within thirty days from the date of this notice to pay the penalty or within twenty-one days from the date of this letter show cause as to why the Board should not impose a penalty for non-compliance with the CPD requirements. After the expiry of twenty-one days, the Board will not accept any presented case with regard to penalty imposed.

Failure to pay the penalty within the required time for those members who have no reasonable cause may lead to disciplinary action that the Board may consider appropriate as per the NBAA Establishment Act, Cap 286.
